El Melón IDEAL™ de Syngenta entre los 10 finalistas al Premio a la Innovación Fruit Logistica 2023, nuevos tomates resistentes al virus del rugoso y variedades delechugas Krispice™ y SolidRib™ son las principales novedades de Syngenta en esta edición de la feria Fruit Logística 2023.

Por tercer año consecutivo, una nueva variedad de Syngenta será finalista de los premios a la innovación de Fruit Logistica. Se trata del melón IDEAL™, un melón cantaloupe que se caracteriza por su excelente conservación y larga duración sin sacrificar ni un solo aroma del melón clásico de esta familia. Como característica diferencial, este melón tiene un indicador único de su estado de maduración.  Un cambio de progresivo de su color exterior permite al productor determinar el momento perfecto para su cosecha. Y de la misma forma, tanto minoristas como consumidores tendrán una confianza absoluta a la hora de conocer el mejor momento para su consumo.

La unidad de negocio de Semillas Hortícolas de Syngenta se mantiene a la vanguardia en la investigación y desarrollo de otras innovaciones que los asistentes a la feria podrán conocer, tales como:

• Nuevas resistencias al Virus rugoso del tomate (ToBRFV): Syngenta tiene como línea de investigación fundamental encontrar soluciones para esta enfermedad que puede conducir a una pérdida de rendimiento de hasta el 70 % del cultivo y se está propagando rápidamente por todo el mundo. Syngenta se enorgullece de proporcionar una serie de variedades resistentes que consigan reducir la transmisión del virus.
• Lechugas SolidRib™ y Krispice™: En el segmento de cultivo de hoja, Syngenta continúa invirtiendo en investigación y desarrollo para mejorar el rendimiento de este cultivo. Se trata de dos nuevas variedades con resistencia a las principales enfermedades de este cultivo. Y como característica distintiva destaca su adaptación a una flexibilidad climática y capacidad para adaptarse a diferentes geografías. Algo sin duda muy interesante para enfrentar los actuales retos climáticos a los que se ven expuestos los cultivos.
• Nuevas tecnologías “Tomato Vision”: Syngenta presentará en su stand de Fruit Logística sus actuales colaboraciones con empresas de inteligencia artificial y tecnología robótica para encontrar técnicas nuevas, más eficientes y precisas de recopilar y analizar datos para los ensayos de mejora vegetal. Se mostrarán las primeras pruebas que se están realizando en este sentido con un robot diseñando para facilitar el cultivo en invernaderos de tomate.
